ICN is the only company in the world that has created a neonatal identification system based on dactyl biometry.

After many years of multidisciplinary investigation and prototype tests, in an exhausting work in this research area, in January of 2000, Identificacion y Custodia Neonal, S.A. - ICN -- was founded and now has several international patents registered in its name.

Initially, ICN was founded as a small family company . Today, within its stock group and administration council, it includes the help of the Renta 4 Investment Group , headed by Dr. Juan Carlos Ureta , and of the Rosp Corunna holding company controlled by Mrs. Rosalia Mera, co-founder of Inditex.
All these people have bet on ICN, not only because of the economic profitability, but- above all - because of the important social impact of the company.

Due to the innovation of the project, ICN has counted on, since its early days, with the support of numerous institutions. Among the most important are Programa de Fomento de la Investigación Tecnológica (PROFIT) from the Ministry of Science and technologys.

Since January of 2003, the main office is in La Coruña .
